Banking – Week of September 21 in Review

Innovation was something of a byword for the regulators’ activities over the past week.  The Fed issued two proposals to implement portions of the GENIUS Act, the OCC cleared three more applications for banks to engage in the digital asset business, and the 2026 U.S. Treasury Market Conference (an annual event) included discussion of the modernization of monetary policy implementation and of the discount window.  The OCC also issued an updated Cybersecurity Work Program, and, earlier, the CSBS released an AI supervisory framework for state bank examiners.
